New York Health System / Schervier today announce the appointment of Yonkers resident, Chaplain Charles Ignatius as the Director of Pastoral Care for Schervier Nursing Care Center. Chaplain Charles has served as Schervier’s Chaplain since 2000.RIVERDALE, NY, July 16, 2010 -- Bon Secours
As Director of Pastoral Care for Schervier Nursing Care Center, Chaplain Charles will work with the leadership team to advance Schervier’s efforts with neighborhood care and person–centered senior services. He also coordinates the Employee Assistance Program.

Prior to his work at Schervier, Chaplain Charles served as the Hospice Chaplain of Cabrini Medical Center in Manhattan. A highly educated individual, he earned a in Philosophy and a Master of Arts in Theology from St. Anthony’s College in Bangalore, as well as a in Sociology from the University of Mysore, and a Bachelor of from Bharathiyar University, all in South India. He did 1800 hours of Residency in Clinical Pastoral Education at Eger Health Care Center in Staten Island. Chaplain Charles also received a Certificate in Bereavement Counseling from the Archdiocese of New York, a Certificate in Hospice Training, a Certificate in Reiki Healing, and is Certified by the .
