YONKERS, NY, July 28, 2010 -- Yonkersites have truly suffered not knowing of Yonkers prospects vis-a-vis earning New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s approval. Mr DiNapoli sent a letter dated July 26, 2010, assigning his review and testifying that all “the Justification Documents are in material compliance with the requirements of the Act and the Ordinance.” The terse two paragraph statement attests to the fact that we are in the midst of the campaign season. Mr DiNapoli has no warning or suggestion to offer Yonkers lack of planning and mismanagement of its financial state of affairs.
Mr DiNapoli's role as comptroller has not ever been inculcated with the prowess of a “sheriff”. He can only suggest. He has offered no suggestions this year to calm Yonkers’ struggle for fiscal survival. The most glaring concern is the fact that City Hall has chosen to maintain our angst one day longer than we needed to suffer by not telling us of Mr DiNapoli's approving the budget. Shame on you Mayor Amicone.
