The primaries on September 14 were a win for non-establishment and tea party candidates. The biggest shock came to the State Republicans with the win by Carl Paladino, the tea party backed candidate that got on the ballot by gathering 15,000 signatures. He also gathered more than 30,000 signatures for the Taxpayer Line in the general election November 2. His win, along with others in the district, is proof positive of not only the tea parties power in the state, but more importantly, that the power is returning to the people, where it belongs.

The National Black Police Association (NBPA), comprised of active and retired police officers of color from throughout the United States, and because of our police experience as police officers in America’s largest cities, have the credibility to analyze and criticize police actions.
The NBPA supports New York City Police Officer Larry Jackson. Officer Jackson who is black was [allegedly] “peppersprayed” and [allegedly] viciously beaten by fellow white officers. Officers from the 113th Precinct in Queens were in Jackson’s home pursuant to he and his wife summoning police assistance to deal with a group of [allegedly] uninvited men who showed at his home with guns and bats then harassed Jackson family members who had gathered for Jackson’s daughter’s 21st birthday party.

The Westchester Chapter of the National Black Police Association, is an organization concerned about the well being of the citizens in our community of Westchester and the State of New York, with that being stated, we believe that gangs are a serious and constant threat to the quality of life in our communities and the safety our children and families.We feel it is time that our political leaders and legislators develop legislation to address the issue of gangs and gang violence. Gangs have destroyed the social fabric of our communities not just here in Westchester, New York, but across the country.

This is the question I want to ask all New Yorkers.
Have you had enough of high taxes, runaway spending, chronic unemployment, a crushing cost of living and a broken state government that isn’t working for taxpayers?
Have you had enough of paying some of the nation’s highest property, business and income taxes?
Have you had enough of late budgets and a dysfunctional budget process that allows a spending plan to be derailed for 92 days?
