Bedford Hills, NY and Katonah, NY, August 31, 2010 -- Residents of Bedford Hills and Katonah in the Town of Bedford are advised, as a precaution, to continue to boil their tap water at a rolling boil for at least one minute before drinking it or using it for food preparation.
A boil water advisory was issued on Monday, following a major water main break. The water main break was located late Monday night near the intersection of Route 117 and Harris Road in Katonah. Repairs were completed by the water district earlier today.

White Plains, NY, August 21, 2010 -- Acting Health Commissioner Dr. Cheryl Archbald yesterday announced customers who purchased uncooked foods and sandwiches prepared at Delgado’s Deli, also known as J&D Deli & Catering, 173 Croton Avenue in Ossining, may have been exposed to Hepatitis A by an infected employee. The potential exposure occurred between July 26 and August 9.

The Westchester County Health Department has learned that the first mosquito batch this year in Westchester to test positive for West Nile Virus has been identified. The mosquito batch was collected by County Health Department staff in Mount Vernon and sent to New York State Health Department for testing. So far this year, there have been no reported human cases of West Nile Virus in Westchester County.

TARRYTOWN, NY, July 28, 2010 -- The Westchester County Department of Health is advising the public of the potential exposure in Tarrytown to an individual with measles. The Westchester County Department of Health was notified of this lab-confirmed case of measles on July 27 and began the investigation in association with the N.Y.S. Department of Health and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Westchester Residents Urged to Take Precautions Against West Nile Virus
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY, July 28, 2010 -- While no mosquito pools have yet tested positive for West Nile virus in Westchester, the virus has been active already in mosquitoes this year in neighboring counties. With that in mind, the Westchester County Department of Health is reminding residents to protect themselves and their homes from mosquitoes.
