WHITE PLAINS, NY, July 15, 2010 --The Westchester Medical Center has just today begun to lay off staff members. As of 2:00 o’clock this afternoon, employeeswere notified that cuts were made immediately. Staff had originally thought that the only cuts would be in Ward 29 which was scheduled to shut down after County Executive Rob Astorino contracted with an out of state vendor to provide care to inmates. In today’s cuts, there appear to be nursing staff, clerical and industrial positions cuts. Acid tongue bloggers will report completely as details become available.
