CORTLAND, NY, July 16, 2010 -- Experience Works, Inc., the nation’s largest nonprofit training and employment organization for older workers, has opened a new, statewide headquarters in Cortland. Located at 277 Tompkins St., Suite #2, the new office will help the organization better serve older workers in New York.
“Experience Works has a strong presence in local communities across New York, but we felt it was important to also have a central office that will give us a better opportunity to coordinate programs and provide much needed assistance to the state’s low-income older workers,” said Karen Mastronardi, New York state director for Experience Works.
Formerly known as Green Thumb, Experience Works offers job training services in New York through the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP). The community-based program helps low-income, mature individuals enter the workforce, secure more challenging positions, move into new career areas or supplement their incomes.
