White Plains, NY, August 19, 2010 -- Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced that Bruce Mogavero (DOB 03/28/56) of 41 Longview Drive, Eastchester, New York was arraignedtoday on a Felony Complaint charging him with:
• one count of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree, a class “C” Felony.
Between March 1st, 2010 and July 1st, 2010 the defendant, while serving as an attorney for a client in the sale of his apartment located at 485 Bronx River Road, Yonkers, New York stole $82,700.00 in United States currency that was to remain in an escrow account for the benefit of the victim.
The potential for additional victims remains under investigation.
The defendant was released on his own recognizance.
His next court appearance will be on September 28th, 2010.
The defendant faces a maximum sentence of five to fifteen years in state prison.
Assistant District Attorney Berit Huseby, of the Public Integrity Bureau, is prosecuting the case.
