White Plains, NY, August 28, 2010 -- Folk singer Pete Seeger and a coalition of activists will host a fundraiser for Attorney General candidate Richard Brodsky this Sunday, August 29th from 2-5pm at the home of Marilyn Elie, 7 John Dorsey Drive in Cortlandt Manor, New York.
Seeger and Brodsky first became acquainted when Brodsky represented Seeger in a successful lawsuit against Indian Point, charging the facility with taking 3 billion gallons of water a day and returning it to the Hudson River untreated. Pete Seeger also signed an endorsement letter for Brodsky earlier in the campaign.
Brodsky said “Pete Seeger is the permanent conscious of American politics and the father of the environmental movement. It’s a pleasure to be associated with them in the struggle for a healthier cleaner New York. I appreciate his support in the campaign.”
In his endorsement letter Seeger said, “Richard has stood with us on the issues that have defined our movement for years. His record on the environment, on peace and civil and human rights, on economic justice is impeccable. And he is a leader and a fighter in our continuing struggle for a just and humane society.”
