New Rochelle, August 13, 2010 -- The Chamber of Commerce of New Rochelle and The Mobile Vet Squad will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at Paws Place at Wards Acres Park on Tuesday, August 17th, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Mayor Noam Bramson will be on hand as will members of the Chamber of Commerce to showcase a new model for veterinary practice.
Dr. Richard Goldstein (pictured) will demonstrate the Mobile Vet Squad comprised within a fully equipped, 26-foot long mobile veterinary hospital. The practice will offer a unique approach to veterinary medicine by providing full-service care right outside the front door of pet owners’ homes – the first of its kind in Westchester. Goldstein sees this as a much-needed and truly desirable service.
“Over my 20-plus years of practicing, I’ve seen how a trip in the car can be very stressful for many pets,” he shares. “It can be equally stressful for pet owners, who have to find time during their busy day, pack up their pet, maybe pack up the kids, and make the trip to the vet. Also, finding transportation can be difficult for some pet owners; particularly for older residents. Mobile Vet Squad provides ultimate convenience, without sacrificing any quality of care. We are literally bringing a full-service hospital, with the highest level of quality care and professional service, right to your doorstep.”
Among the services offered by Mobile Vet Squad are wellness and illness care for all stages of life; vaccinations; general surgery (including spay and neuter); general dentistry; digital radiography; in-house laboratory and blood testing; out-lab for special testing; micro-chipping; domestic and international health certificates; in-home euthanasia; in-house pharmacy; online product ordering; prescription pet foods; and consultations and referrals to board-certified specialists when necessary.
Mobile Vet Squad will initially provide service to residents of lower and eastern Westchester including New Rochelle, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, Rye, Harrison, Scarsdale, Hartsdale, Eastchester, Tuckahoe, Bronxville, Purchase, Port Chester, Pelham and parts of White Plains. Plans for further expansion in Westchester are in the works. Pet owners can schedule appointments Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Mobile Vet Squad can also arrange group visits for senior centers and communities, apartment complexes, specific neighborhoods or work sites.
