CROSS RIVER, NY, August 1, 2010 -- Westchester Amateur Astronomers (WAA) will hold its monthly star party at the Meadow Parking Lot at Ward Pound Reservation in Cross River, NY, Saturday night, August 7th, at 9:00 pm. WAA is Westchester’s only organization devoted to amateur astronomy, with over 150 members of all ages and backgrounds. Annual dues are only $25 per family. In addition to the monthly lectures at Pace University in Pleasantville, the club schedules dark-sky observing “star parties” for the public each month at the Ward Pound Reservation in Cross River, at which many club members bring telescopes of all types and sizes to show the beauty of the night sky.
