Mount Vernon, NY, September 9, 2010 -- This Saturday, September 11th at 8:30am, Mayor Clinton I. Young, Jr. and the City of Mount Vernon will hold a September 11th remembrance ceremony at Mount Vernon City Hall.
The public is invited to this ceremony which will commemorate the ninth anniversary of the tragic terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. September 11th has also been designated as First Responders Day in Mount Vernon and the ceremony will include special recognition of the city's Fire, Police and EMS services.
Last year, a plaque was installed at the city's September 11th Memorial Statue with the names of the five Mount Vernon residents who perished during the attack on the World Trade Center.
