Westchester, NY, September 20, 2010 -- State Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins (35th District – D/WF/I) today announced that the 2.5 million members of the New York State AFL-CIO have endorsed her candidacy for re-election. New York State AFL-CIO PresidentDenis Hughes praised Senator Stewart-Cousins’ record of fighting for the working families of New York State.
“The social and economic problems facing our state and nation require strong leadership on the part of our elected representatives. We are confident that Senator Stewart-Cousins will continue to demonstrate this ability. The New York State AFL-CIO is pleased to offer our enthusiastic support for her campaign and pledges the assistance of our members in the 35th SenateDistrict,” said New York State AFL-CIO President Denis Hughes.

The endorsements took place at the State Labor Federation’s biennial political convention, held at the Desmond Hotel in Albany, New York. More than 400 delegates, representing local unions, labor councils and area labor federations throughout the state, were in attendance.
