Riverdale, The Bronx, NY, September 2, 2010 -- The Sisters of Charity of New York are offering free evening English-as-a-second-language (ESL) classes at Mount Saint Vincent, in Riverdale, located within the northwest section of The Bronx. This is a great chance to learn to read and write English and improve everyday conversation skills. Sr. Dorothy Metz is president of the Sisters of Charity of New York
Registration: First-time participants may register on Monday, September 20 and Wednesday, September 22, 4:00 – 7:30pm at The Sisters of Charity Administration Center (also known as Le Gras Hall) / 6301 Riverdale Ave. — at West 263 St.— Bronx, NY 10471. Returning students may register by phoning the office.

Classes will be held on Mondays & Wednesdays, 6 – 8 pm, beginning September 27 and ending November 17.
The Sisters began offering these free classes last year. This is their fourth session. Past sessions have attracted students from Eastern Europe, the Middle East, the Far East, the Caribbean, Central and South America.
In addition to students, the Sisters also are seeking volunteer language coaches; no experience necessary, training will be provided.
