John Folkerts and Gail Burns Deny Being Served by a restraining Order
Yonkers, NY, September 30, 2010 -- Hugh Fox, Jr., Vice-Chair of the Conservative Party in Yonkers, in a self-claimed “effort to bring some legality to the election process,” today asserts he has obtained a restraining order to stop John Folkerts, Chair of the Yonkers Conservative Party and Gail Burns, Chair of the Westchester Conservative Party from conducting what he claims is an “illegal reorganization” of the Yonkers Conservative Party that was scheduled to be held today, September 30, 2010, at the Polish Community Center at 11:00 am. “In an effort to disenfranchise conservatives, Mr. Folkerts sent notices last week inviting Conservativs Party members that participated in the election for district leaders on Primary Day, September 14, 2010, whether they won or lost their elections,” writes Hugh Fox, Jr. in his emailed press release.
“This meeting is illegal,” contends Mr Fox. “Mr Folkerts and his accomplice Gail Burns need to be stopped. The Board of Elections has not certified the elections and until that happens there are no legitimate district leaders,” continues Mr Fox. “By inviting all who participated and not waiting to see who won they have added confusion and deceit to the process!,” Mr Fox continues. “Those who lost will think they’ve won! Those who won will not understand why their opponents are present. But then, maybe their intent is to cause a raucous and not a fair meeting for fear that a fair meeting will result in their defeat!,” said Mr Fox.
“These are the same underhanded tactics that have permeated Ms. Burns’ chairmanship; and Mr. Folkerts has become no better since he allows her to lead him down this path of destruction.” Continuing, Mr Fox says, “These are the same tactics that caused Gail Burns to go against the wishes of true conservative leaders last year that attended a meeting in support of Rob Astorino for County Executive but ended up, with a LEFT-WINGED LIBERAL running as a pseudo-conservative.”
Mr Fox concluded by saying, “On behalf of the True Conservatives, I ask Mr. Folkerts and Ms. Burns to allow the meeting to be conducted in a civil, open, and fair way. Let the chips fall as they may. We need leadership that speaks for the people; the True Conservatives of Westchester…let’s bring them back!”
