2010 not only brought no COLA increases to seniors' monthly social security checks, it also brought with it a decrease. I was told the decrease was for higher Medicare deductibles.
I wonder if 2011 will follow the downward spiral of 2010.
Personally, I don't think this is the fault of one party or the other. Both parties are equally guilty. It's sad, because as a demographic, a higher proportion of seniors vote than any other demographic. And, seniors are becoming a greater percentage of U.S. population.
If there are billions for Citibank, Goldman Sachs, and GM, et al, I'm certain a bipartisan effort can find a few bucks to increase the 2011 COLA; not deduct any Medicare dollars; refund the 2010 Medicare deduction, and refund the the 2010 COLA.
Our seniors should be treated equal to any "favored nation. We've earned it!
