Yonkers, NY, August 12, 2010 -- Assemblyman campaign candidate Mike Ramondelli sent out an email blast authored by Brendan Charles, a person obviously part of the campaign effort, but whose title or responsibility is not ascribed in the email. Nevertheless, Mr Charles alleges that one of the Ramondelli campaign aides, Joseph Dalli was assaulted last night outside the Shoprite supermarket located on Tuckahoe Road. The email continues by asserting, “Two men, Steve Wilgermein and Julio Sophia, approached Dalli and inquired of his presence.” [Editor’s note: Stever Wilgermein is Mike Spano’s nephew, and Julio Sophia is a friend of Steve, and well-known to the Spano family] The email continues, “Sophia initially threatened Dalli, then grabbed the petition* from his hands and fled in a Mercedes Benz sedan.” [Editor’s note: “The clipboard contained nearly 250 signatures per the email notice, but about 200 signatures as per Mike Ramondelli]

New York, NY, August 5, 2010 -- On Thursday, August 5, 2010, Justice Robert Lowe of the New York State Supreme Court denied a motion by Met Life to dismiss the claims of Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Villagetenants for damages resulting from Met Life’s illegal deregulation of apartments and rent overcharges. The ruling came in the ongoing litigation of the Roberts case, in which the State’s highest court had previously found that Met Life and Tishman Speyer, which purchased the complex from Met Life in 2006, had given up their right to deregulate apartments by accepting generous tax benefits under the City’s J-51 program.
